| An Exploration of Women's Spiritual Journeys... Past, Present and Future |
| WomanSpirit Rising A Monthly Circle for Women WomanSpirit Rising is a women's circle that honors the Feminine Divine and celebrates women's ways of knowing. Through rituals based in Women's Mysteries, specifically those of European Shamanism, our Circle focuses on the Goddess as the primary creative source in the universe and in the lives of women. Through ritual, education and building community, we seek to re-member the religion of the Mother Goddess and incorporate Her-story into the cultural mythology of our time. Our spirituality is earth-honoring and woman-affirming and predates all patriarchal religions for... She is older than and Creatrix of all that is! Once a month, we gather in circle to explore the rich tapestry of women's spiritual traditions - past, present and future. It is a time to experience ritual, create intimacy and forge bonds with your sisters of like mind. Each Circle focuses on where we are on the Wheel of the Year and how that manifests in the cycles of women's lives. Rituals include a formal learning as well as experiential activities such as creating an altar, meditation, and other aspects of women's rituals and women's ways of knowing. We read relevant materials, watch videos, engage in spiritual art making, etc. All activities are celebrations and/or releases based on the learning for that Circle and the HolyDay of the Wheel of The Year. Come explore the rich tapestry that is women's spirituality, meet your sisters of like mind and grow from your own experience of the Feminine Divine. ~*~Women Only Please~*~ $10.00*** (No one turned away for lack of funds!) ***Registration Greatly Appreciated*** For more information Contact ~*~Location~*~ Circles held at Spirit House unless otherwise specified. | *** WomanSpirit is another term for the movement that came out of the 60's and 70's whose focus was the reclaimation of women's knowledge and power and rebirth of nature-centered spirituality. WomanSpirit Rising became the title of a publication that explored the resurgence of Goddess Spirituality and growth of Feminist Theaology. Weaving The Visions was the second publication in this vein. It is this from these inspirations that I reverently borrow these terms. | *** Why A Fee For A Sacred Circle? I have been asked many times - Why is there a fee for the monthly circles? WomanSpirit Rising Women's Circles are not your normal women's or earth-based spiritual circles. Our gatherings are part ritual, part class, part therapy and part spiritual theater. In order to create a spiritual experience where ALL senses are stimulated, we use a lot of decorative objects/props to transform the space (whether inside or out) in an effort to create just the right atmosphere based on our learning/celebration for that circle. We also create interactive altars that require many components - most of which we are having to purchase as we go along - and, each Circle utilizes a lot of printed materials plus sacred materials that are prepared and given to everyone in attendance. Finally, we have to rent space which is frequently our largest expense. However, even if we had free space, in order to create the level of ritual that is our goal we would still have to ask for some contribution. I understand that many women are not used to paying for a ritual circle and I honor that. However, the mission of WomanSpirit Rising is to bring a level of ritual that very few have previously experienced. To do this requires many types of energy, including monetary energy. We could not do what we are doing without your support! Our goal is to provide an experience that touches you at a very deep level. So, each time we gather, we ask for you to share the cost of a good meal and, to not only feed your senses, but also your soul*. Come and Join Us and Experience Something Truly Extraordinary!
